Since this is a gift, it should be noted that there was no assembling instructions in the box. You must go on the Amazon website to view it, which can be inconvenience if you're gifting it to someone outside the family (if you send them the link.. they'll see the price *gasp*). We initially reached out to the seller when we didn't find the instructions and they directed us to the Amazon product website where the video was posted. However, the video was very easy to understand, and we were able to set it up and make necessary adjustments in 30 minutes.
I am 5'2 and personally do not like the bike (probably a good thing because it's a gift for my husband) because it is just too high, I would have to tip-toe to stand on the ground when stopping. My husband who is 6'2 loved it and said it's the perfect height for him. He went on a few ride this past month with my son and also by himself in the neighborhood (we live in area with big hills) and he said the ride was smooth, and having the pedal assist mode and pure electric mode made what would be a torturous ride easy and fun.
We are definitely impressed with this ebike even though it seems like a intro model/price. We are now looking for another one for me. Definitely looking forward to one with a pet carrier so we can bring our dog along.
My first impression when riding it for the first time was that it was that it's huge, it was definitely heavier and bulkier than my regular mountain ebike. I'm 5 ft 7.5" and when I tried to get on this bike, I can barely touch the ground. This ebike is definitely not made for anyone under 5ft 7in tall. After spending an hour on it, I think i got the hang of it and getting more used to it. With the fat tires, the riding was much smoother, the ride feels actually sturdier, especially when turning. This ebike has built-in hydraulic suspension so going through small pot holes or speed bumps or dips feel much less bumpy than my other ebike. The bigger 500w motor definitely feels stronger, it has more torque and power, no issue when attempting to climb a high slope hill. One of the best feature of this ebike is the built-in ignition key, which is used to enable or disable the electric motor and control (still requires a bike lock to prevent it from being stolen, but at least with this key ignition system, it'd prevent other people from messing with my bike). The built-in front headlight is pretty bright at night, and has about 10 to 15 ft projection range. Another cool feature is that it has a built-in electric honk, decent volume, which is good enough to alert people nearby. Overall, I think this bike is worth it, even though it's a little bit on the expensive side compare to regular tires ebike, it was an awesome upgrade for me. Can't wait for the weekend so I can take it to the beach for the first time.
